The Elephant & It's Tiny Rope

Once upon a time a very wealthy merchant was passing by a jungle on a business trip when he saw a large herd of elephants, he suddenly stopped confused, after noticing the fact that these huge creatures were being held only by very tiny ropes tied to their front legs. There were no chains, neither were there cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reasons, they weren't. He saw a trainer nearby and decided to asked why these animals just stood where they are never making any attempts to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they were very young and much smaller we used the same size rope to tie them and at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grew up, they were conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They still believe the rope can hold them back, so they never try to break free.” The merchant was amazed.
